SPREAD OF SAHAJA YOGA IN HARDWAR

In this holy city of Haridwar, where rituals and religious misbelieves are abound, where at every corner of the lane is a Ashram, and where lakhs of people come throughout the year in search of truth, Sahajayoga made a small beginning way back in 1989 with the Self Realization of two persons in Kankhal area of Haridwar. The importance of Kankhal in Haridwar can be gauged by the fact that it had been the home of Devi Sati, Shakti of Lord Shiva. Further, the earliest Identification of Shree Mataji in Haridwar happened in Kankhal area by some Acharya when she was only 14 years old.

With this type of environment where the focus of entire city is outward towards rites and rituals and where religious fanaticism is the way of life, Sahajayoga started it's journey with the efforts and deep desire of few Sahajayogis at that time. The public programmes were conducted everywhere in the city and Self Realization was given to the seekers of truth. The people were told that God is present inside every one and connection with Him is possible through awakening of Kundalini, which is achieved effortlessly in Sahajayoga by the Divine Grace of H.H. Mataji Shree Nirmala Devi when the seeker honestly desires it.

Slowly and steadily, Sahajyoga started spreading. A Sahajayoga center was established at Punjab Sindh Chhetra, Kankhal, Haridwar, which is now the main center of Haridwar district. The Sahajayoga activities of Haridwar district is looked after by Sahaj Parivar headed by Shri Jagpal Singh who was the among the first to receive his Self Realization in Haridwar

Today more than 2000 people from all walks of life are practicing  Sahaja meditation and living a joyous, healthy and balanced life. It won't be long before the entire city wakes up to Sahajayoga and people will recognize their own power and their ability to love each other irrespective of caste, color, creed and religion. There are 20 Sahajayoga Centers spread over the entire Haridwar district where nearby people assemble once a week for their collective meditation.
